In bed with me: CREATING AN ORGANIC SANTUARY FOR YOURSELF with Coyuchi

Carman and I have been in the slow process of finishing our master bedroom. We have slowly gone through our home, replacing certain items with more quality versions and ones that are organic (like fabrics and things we surround ourselves with) in order to make our home (apartment) a sanctuary.

I’ve mentioned it before, but we are big homebodies. We spend a great deal of our time at home and an even greater deal of time in our beds over the course of our lives - so it’s important for us to create a space that feels like a retreat.

My mom has always preached the importance of good linens. She always made it a point to pass on the habit of taking care of your linens and made sure we had restful and relaxing bedrooms to promote good sleep. A woman after my own heart. While the mattress is an important key ingredient to the makeup of your bed, linens are just as important.

For our mattress we chose the Tuft and Needle - we love that it is a perfect blend of firm and soft and is made with heat wicking graphite and cooling gel to keep our temperatures regulated and cool throughout the night.  Temperature plays a huge part in how well you sleep. We also love the fact that they are transparent with their pricing and choose not to mark up based on what other companies are doing!

When it comes to our sheets and bedding, we prefer linens that stay cool to the touch like organic linen and cotton fabrics. For linens, we love Coyuchi! They have been producing organic linens for the last 25 years. They’ve been doing it since ‘before it was cool’, so you can feel confident that they know what they’re doing.  I love knowing where and how my linens are being made. It’s important to us to carry out sustainable living into the bedroom and not just our closets.

For our master bedroom we wanted to create a calm and neutral sanctuary to retreat to, which also flows with the rest of our home. We love using natural and neutral colors in our space to help create a nature inspired, organic feel overall.

Coyuchi is also committed to zero water waste and seeking to be as responsible as possible in their process. They are incredibly transparent about their process, their production, and their partners.

Beyond loving how our new bed looks, purchasing organic linens is about our health. No harsh chemicals are used on these linens, which means none are coming into contact with our skin (our largest organ!).

If there is one thing not to compromise on in life, it’s a good bed and even better bedding.

Hope you enjoyed our very first vlog of sorts - we have a few more in the works!

  2. Satin and silk bed sheets are thin and feel excellent against your skin. silk bed sheets Though the higher thread count bed sheets are expensive, it is worth the investment as they last for a long time and ultimately you cannot compromise on your sleep and health by going for cheaper sheets with lower thread count.

  3. Most kids bunk beds with slides do not have the lower level bed, instead you will find many designs where the lower portion of the entire bed is converted into a mini tent with doors and windows just like a real camping tent. twin triple bunk bed

  4. Airbeds are increasingly popular and are a good choice for a guest room or for a bed you need only a few times a year. Don't think of the old air mattress. fleet mattress
